The race is on! You have just been entered in a whale-spotting
race. It is time for you to brush up on
your whale facts and guide your team in the right direction. Your goal is to be
the first to spot a whale! On your
marks, get set, go!
Your job is to be a good detective so you can be the first to spot
a whale. First, you will need to choose
the whale you would like to find. Then,
by researching what he eats, where he lives, where he might travel, what he
looks like, and other important facts, you should be able to track his movement
and be the first to spot a real whale. Finally, you will present your findings
to others so they are able to be successful at finding whales too!
Now that you are in your pods and you know what type of whale you
are looking for, you can start gathering information. Use the websites below to fill in the
information sheet. Remember, you only
have a small amount of time before your ship leaves, so you need to use your
time wisely. These websites will help
you find out what your whale eats, his length, his weight, his color, what he
sounds like, his habitat, his location, how he travels and other interesting
facts.
