Text Box: How the Immune System Works -
The immune system produces white blood cells, which help fight diseases by eating bad bacteria that invade the body. The white blood cells produce antibodies, which hold the bacteria in place while the white blood cells destroy the bacteria. When the antibody is holding the bacteria, cytoplasm helps hold the cell in place. When viruses enter the body, it attaches to a cell, and then the white blood cells destroy it.
