- Left
side of heart pumps oxygen-rich blood to arteries, which carry blood
to all parts of body.
- Blood
from arteries enter capillaries; oxygen and food move to cells and the
waste gas, carbon dioxide moves into the blood, this blood enters the
veins.
- Veins
carry blood with carbon dioxide to the right side of heart the heart
pumps blood to lungs.
- In
lungs, blood picks up oxygen and gives off carbon dioxide. Blood moves
from left side of heart and begins again.
Heart
1.
Between heartbeats heart relaxes both atriums and fills with blood.
2. When
atriums contract, blood is forced through one-way openings, so blood from
right atrium flows to right ventricle. Blood from left atrium flows to left
ventricle.
3.Ventricles contract blood. The blood is pumped
out of the heart, the right ventricle pumps blood to lungs. Left ventricle
pumps blood to the rest of the body.
