Prevent Diseases

You need to eat properly, and frequently exercise for your body to work properly. Parts of your body work to prevent diseases and germs, which could make you sick. Your Immune system plays an important part with white blood cells, which surround the germs and eat them.

Hands – wash them to stay healthy

White Blood Cells – makes antibodies to attack diseases

Skin – a wall against germs

Eyes – eyelashes help prevent germs from getting in

Nose – when you sneeze germs come out

Eating healthy is good for you, because your body needs proper nutrients to function correctly. You need water or you will get dehydrated, because your body is 2/3 water.

Viruses are the smallest germs. They are about 100 times smaller than most bacteria. Not all bacteria are bad. December 2-8 is National Hand Washing Awareness Week.

Soap – gets rid of germs

Vaccine – can make antibodies for some diseases

Vitamins – give you some of the nutrients you need each day
