Introduction:

“Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See” is a story that begins with a bear who sees a redbird looking at him, and follows with a colorful collections of animals that tell what they can see.  Join us on a bear hunt to see what “you” can see.

We’re going on a bear and color hunt.  There are brown bears, black bears, polar bears, and even Pooh bears.  Let’s read with some “furry” friends.

The Task:

It will be your job to learn about different kinds of bears and colors.  After spending some time learning all about bears, you and your class will write a story about what “we can see” and what we have learned.  You will also have a big job of learning all about colors and you will be making your very own color book.

Are you ready?  Let’s go!!!!!

Process:

We will first read the book, “Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?” by Bill Martin, Jr.  We will then begin our bear hunt on the computer; your teacher will help you.

·      Let’s begin by looking at some pictures of bears.  Click on the picture below to find pictures of all sorts of bears.  Let’s find out what colors they are and what they like to eat.  Draw a picture of a bear that you like.

·      You have been great bear hunters.  Now let’s see if we can find some things out about our colors.  Click on each color to see pictures of things that are that color.  Draw one picture in your color book for each color.  Remember to do your best drawing and coloring.  J
