  • Organizing spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel
Goal/Purpose To increase and extend knowledge of fractions/ decimals/percents through a real-world situation while utilizing technology.
Objectives
  • Randomly select a budget to limit spending
  • Identify percent discounts and translate them to dollar amounts
  • Correctly fill out an order form to include subtotals, sales tax, and S&H
  • Communicate findings to teacher
Length of Lesson

Three 50-minute class periods
Resources Computer access with Internet access, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel; students can work in pairs if necessary
Prior Knowledge
  • Basic percents and decimals
  • Internet searching
  • Microsoft Word & Excel
